OpenReels
Short-form video is the most consumed content format on the internet, yet every platform that serves it is a black box. Algorithms you can't see decide what millions of people watch every day. That didn't sit right with me.
OpenReels started as a simple question: what if there was a short-form video platform that was completely open? Open-source code, transparent recommendations, and a community that actually has a say in how the platform evolves.
The engineering challenges are massive — video processing, content delivery at scale, real-time feeds — but that's what makes it exciting. Every technical decision is made in the open, and every line of code is available for anyone to read, contribute to, or fork.
OpenReels is my bet that the future of video platforms is open, not closed. And I'm building it one commit at a time.
